Summer Student Record Collection and Miscellaneous Statistics |
DUE:
August 31, 2006
To comply with the information and
reporting requirements for adequate yearly progress, report cards and
performance indicators of the No Child
Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), the Department of Education is conducting a
Summer Student Record Collection for the 2005-2006 school year. Informational Supts. Memo No. 139, dated July 22, 2005, included specific
information regarding the student record collection and reporting time frames.
The newly created 2005-06 Summer
Student Record Collection should reflect ONLY summer school graduate
information. Only graduates who earned a diploma during summer school should be
included in the 2005-06 Summer Student Record Collection.
A summer submission is required for
every school division in order to generate the Final Term Graduate Report. A PowerPoint presentation regarding the new
Summer Student Record Collection can be found at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Publications/student-coll/05-06/SRC2006.ppt.
A detailed listing of the data elements
on the student record, miscellaneous statistics, and instructions for
completing and submitting the data can be found on the Virginia Department of
Educations website at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Publications/student-coll/new_coll.html.
Data are
required by the Department of Education on or before the closing date of August
31, 2006. Early submission and verification is strongly encouraged as the
Department of Education intends to publicly release final graduation data based
on the student record soon after the closing of this data collection. The Summer Student Record Collection will be
open and accessible through the Single Sign-on for Web Systems (SSWS) by August
10, 2006.
Questions or comments relating to the 2005-06 Summer Student Record Collection should be
directed to Educational Applications at RESULTSHELP@doe.virginia.gov or
(804) 786-3112.
