School Improvement Data Collection |
In order to comply with the reporting requirements stipulated in section 1111 (h)(4)(F) of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, school divisions with schools in Title I School Improvement must annually report information related to local implementation of School Improvement sanctions. This includes reporting on: 1) public school choice; 2) supplemental educational services (SES); 3) corrective actions; and 4) alternative governance options.
To ensure accuracy in reporting, a Web-based application has been developed. This application has been designed to allow data synchronization with the End-of-Year Student Record Collection data submitted by July 15, 2006, as requested in Superintendents Memorandum, Number 19, dated June 2, 2006, located on the Virginia Department of Educations website at
http://www.doe.virginia.gov/administrators/superintendents_memos/2006/adm019.html.
The School Improvement survey will be available beginning August 1, 2006, at https://eb01.vak12ed.edu/ssws/com/vdoe/dataAdmin/jsp/LoginContainer.jsp. Detailed instructions for completing the survey are included on the website. The completion deadline is Friday, September 15, 2006.
The survey will require schools to: 1) electronically enter individual student SES data for the 2005-2006 school year based on data from the 2005-2006 End-of-Year Student Record Collection (see attachment A); 2) update previously submitted corrective action data for Year Four schools; and 3) verify the accuracy of submitted data.
After completing the survey, division superintendents must verify the reports accuracy and sign the verification form provided in the Web-based application. Signed verification forms should be faxed to Mrs. Helen Tucker, administrative assistant, at (804) 371-7347.
Users completing the survey will need to request access
from their divisionwide Single Sign-on for Web
Systems (SSWS) administrator. The SSWS
administrators contact list is located on the Virginia Department of Educations
website at http://hp03.vak12ed.edu/cgi-bin/broker?_service=doe_staff&applic_type_id=26&_program=stafcode.application_type_3.sas.
