SUBJECT:	Local Plan for Career and Technical Education

The Standards of Quality and Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 1998 require each school division to develop and receive local school board approval of a plan for their career and technical education program. You may access the 2006-2007 local plan at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Instruction/CTE/director.html. The due date is May 5, 2006.

Since new federal legislation has not been approved for Career and Technical Education, only minor changes have been made to the local application for 2006-2007. The changes are based on the updated Standards of Quality approved by the General Assembly and on requirements for the extension of the state Perkins plan that was submitted for the 2005-2006 school year.
