February 6-10, 2006, National School Counseling Week |
The 2006 National
School Counseling Week is slated for February 6-10, 2006, with the theme,
School Counselors: Changing Lives, Building Futures. The Virginia Department of Education would
like to recognize all school counselors during this annual event, and highlight
the tremendous impact that school counselors have in helping students achieve
success in school and developing realistic postsecondary plans.
School counselors continue to be recognized for the
many services they provide to students, teachers, parents, and
administrators. The work that school
counselors do is vital to the success of every student in our public schools
across the commonwealth.
I encourage division superintendents to join the
Department of Education in recognizing school counselors for the dedicated work
they do each day to ensure students educational success. Indeed, school counselors work tirelessly to
change lives and build bright futures for each student.
