The Department of Education is pleased to announce two regional technical assistance academies designed to provide guidance to school divisions in completing the 2006-2007 applications for federal funds under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). The academies will address the following topics: 1)mechanics of completing the electronic application; 2)writing consolidated measurable goals and objectives; 3)completing the program-specific information requests; and 4)the process for revising and resubmitting the electronic applications. An agenda is attached for your convenience.
One academy will be held in Blacksburg, Virginia, at The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, and one will be held in Richmond, Virginia, at the Sheraton Park South on Wednesday, March 29, 2006. Registration for these academies will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Both academies will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. School divisions are invited to send to the workshop up to three persons who are responsible for completion of the consolidated application. If the school division submits individual applications, the Title I coordinator and two selected program representatives should attend.
