Technical
Assistance Academy for New Title I, Title II, and Title III Coordinators |
The Virginia
Department of Education is pleased to announce a professional development
academy for new Title I, Part A; Title II, Part A; and Title III, Part A,
coordinators on July 11, 2006, in Richmond, Virginia, and July 13, 2006, in
Roanoke, Virginia. The academy
entitled, Building Capacity Through Knowledge will assist new coordinators in
understanding the requirements of Title I, Part A; Title II, Part A; and Title
III, Part A, of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
The academy
on July 11, 2006, will be held at the Sheraton Park South Hotel in Richmond,
Virginia, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. On July 13, 2006, the academy will be
held at the Hotel Roanoke Conference Center in Roanoke, Virginia, from 8:30
a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A draft agenda is
attached to this memorandum. The academy is designed for Title I, Title II, and
Title III coordinators with two years experience or less. Space is limited to three participants per
school division at each site. Breaks and lunch will be provided. Lodging, if required, will be master billed,
and travel will be reimbursed in accordance with state guidelines.
The
Office of Continuing and Professional Education at Virginia Tech will manage
the registration. Please register

academy is July 6, 2006.
If lodging is
required, a reservation must be made directly with the hotel. The cutoff date for reservations for the

The cutoff date for room reservations for the Hotel Roanoke Conference Center
in Roanoke, Virginia, is June 22, 2006.
