INFORMATIONAL

TO:

Division Superintendents

FROM:

Billy K. Cannaday, Jr.

Superintendent of Public Instruction

SUBJECT:

Revision to 2005-2006 Title I, Part A, and Title I, Part D, Subpart 2, Entitlements under Provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Public Law 107-110

This communication is to inform you of revisions to the Title I, Part A, and Title I, Part D, Subpart 2, allocations that were released in Superintendents Memorandum, Informational Number 057, dated March 10, 2006. The increased allocation is based on revised census data from the United States Education Department.

Attachment A contains a spreadsheet that shows the revised allocation. The funding allocation increased minimally for all school divisions shown in the correction to initial calculated grants column.

The Virginia Department of Education will allocate the additional funding to object code 6000 materials and supplies through the Online Management of Education Grant Award (OMEGA) system. A budget amendment will be necessary through OMEGA only if your school division would prefer that the funds be allocated to another object code.

If you have questions, please contact Mr. Kent Dickey, budget director, at 804-225-2025 or by e-mail at Kent.Dickey@doe.virginia.gov.
