On July 26, 2006, the Virginia Board of Education adopted cut scores for the Virginia Alternate Assessment Program (VAAP) for grades 3 through 5, grades 6 through 8, and grades 9 through 12 in the content areas of reading, mathematics, science, and history/social science. A table listing the scores needed for passing each content area in each grade level band as well as the scores needed for students to attain pass advanced status is available on the Virginia Department of Education website at: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Assessment/home.shtml.
