A No Child Left Behind Technical
Assistance Audio Workshop for Schools New to Year Two of Title I School
Improvement |
The Department of Education is pleased to announce a
one-hour technical assistance audio workshop for school divisions with schools
entering Year Two of School Improvement.
Year Two schools are Title I schools that did not make Adequate Yearly
Progress in reading (English/language arts), mathematics, or both for three
consecutive years in the same subject area.
These schools have been identified for Year Two of Title I School
Improvement for the 2006-2007 school year, and must begin offering Supplemental
Educational Services (SES) in addition to public school choice.
The audio workshop
will assist school divisions with new Year Two School Improvement schools in
implementing the SES requirements of Section 1116(e) of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The audio workshop will focus on the
statutory requirements that divisions must carry out when a school enters Year
Two of Title I School Improvement.
The one-hour audio workshop will be held at two
different times on Thursday, October 19, 2006.
Participating school divisions are asked to assemble representatives at
one location, use a speakerphone, and participate at the time assigned
below. Time assignments are assigned
using the beginning letter of each school divisions name. At the designated starting time, callers
should dial the toll-free number and enter the passcode
below.
