Federal
Regulations (7CFR 210.17) require states to appropriate a minimum level of
state funds to be paid as reimbursement to school divisions that participate in
the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
The required minimum funding level for
The per meal
lunch reimbursement rate is calculated by dividing the funding level by the
total number of lunches served in the previous school year. The per meal reimbursement rate for lunches
served in the 2005-2006 school year is $0.0477874. Attached is a chart that details the NSLP
state reimbursement payment for each school division. Each divisions reimbursement amount is equal
to the 2005-2006 reimbursement rate multiplied by the number of lunch meals
served in the 2005-2006 school year.
The state
lunch reimbursement will be paid by Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) on
October 16, 2006. These funds must be
credited to the school nutrition account and will be identified on the EDI
notice as School Lunch State Match revenue source code 240215.
Questions may be directed to Lynne A. Fellin, acting director of School Nutrition Programs, at (804) 225-2074 or to the assigned school nutrition program specialist.
