The Virginia Middle School Association

eighth-grade classes with the opportunity to participate in the Making History Come Alive in the Middle
Schools Visual Arts and Writing Contests.
The Virginia Middle School Association plans to showcase the final
entries during the Virginia Middle School Association conference to be held at
the Waterside Marriott Hotel in
The Virginia Middle School Association
would like to invite each middle school to submit entries for both
contests. A school may send two entries
per grade level per contest. Additional
entry requirements for each contest and the cover letter to be completed and
affixed to each submitted entry can be found on the VMSA website at http://vmsa.org/ann.htm. A regional committee will select two works of
visual arts and writing from each grade level (6-8) to compete at the Virginia
State Middle School Association Conference.
Entries must be postmarked by January 5,
2007. Please mail or deliver the entries
to your designated Virginia Middle School Association Regional Director. A list
of directors can be found at http://vmsa.org/contact.htm. Students should keep a copy of their submitted
artwork or writing. Artworks and
writings will be returned if a self-addressed label, appropriate postage, and a
container suitable for mailing are included with the submission.
The first-place winner from each grade
