Revision
to 2006-2007 Title I, Part A, and Title I, Part D, Subpart 2, Allocations
under Provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Public Law
107-110 |
This communication is to inform you of
revisions to the 2006-2007 Title I, Part A, and Title I, Part D, Subpart 2,
allocations that were released in Superintendents Memorandum, Informational
Number 144, dated July 28, 2006. The
revisions are necessary because of an error in U.S. Census Bureau poverty data
used to generate the Title I allocations. The amounts noted for each school division are
based on the best information available at this time from the U.S. Department
of Education (USED).
Attachment A contains a spreadsheet that
shows the revised 2006-2007 allocation. The Virginia Department of
Education will allocate the revised amount to object code 0000 through the
Online Management of Education Grant Award (OMEGA) system. A budget transfer will need to be completed by
school divisions to distribute the changes in allocation to appropriate budget
object codes. If this adjustment resulted in a school division receiving an
allocation of $500,000 or greater, one percent of the total allocation must be
set aside for parental involvement.
If you have questions regarding the revised
2006-2007 Title I allocation, please contact Mr. Kent Dickey, budget director,
at 804-225-2025 or by e-mail at Kent.Dickey@doe.virginia.gov.
