Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Deposit Notices and Locality Ledger Report

The Department of Education Finance Division is pleased to announce that the current semi-monthly Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) deposit notices and Locality Ledger Report (which provide information on division payments and adjustments recorded in the DOE financial system) will be made available as reports that can be downloaded directly from the DOE website. These Web-based reports will replace the reports currently provided by e-mail, fax, and in posted files. It is anticipated that these reports will be available on the DOE website no later than mid-December 2006. The report output will generate directly into an Excel spreadsheet and data for prior years will be available.

Because the computer hardware necessary to send the fax and e-mail versions of the semi-monthly EDI notices is no longer supported, the fax and e-mail versions of these notices will no longer be sent to divisions and local treasurers after the December 16, 2006, deposit.

Instructions on how to access the Web-based EDI Deposit Report and Locality Ledger Report will be provided via e-mail to school division finance contacts soon. No end user set-up will be required as these reports will be directly accessible from the Accounting Office section of the DOE website.

The information in this Superintendent's Memo has been provided via e-mail to school division finance contacts. Please forward this Superintendents Memo and the forthcoming instructions to your local treasurer to notify them of this change in report availability.
