SUBJECT:	Instructional Support Team Overview Training

The Department of Education is pleased to announce the Instructional Support Team Overview Training that will be held on January 10, 2007. This overview training is designed to inform administrative personnel in interested school divisions about the value of instructional support teams and the necessary considerations for developing one in a school. Modeled on the Instructional Consultation Team process developed by Dr. Sylvia Rosenfield and Dr. Todd Gravois at the University of Maryland, instructional support teams have been developed in almost three dozen schools across the Commonwealth. Five Virginia schools have attained model status since 1999.

The Instructional Support Team Overview Training will be held on January 10, 2007, at the Sheraton Park South in Richmond. It is designed for teams no larger than three from interested elementary and middle schools, or from central office staff. Registration will be conducted through the Office of Student Services until December 15, 2006. A registration form is attached for your convenience.
