SUBJECT:

Report of Children and Youth With Disabilities Exiting Special Education, 2006-2007 School Year

 

 

Under the provisions of the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and its subsequent amendments, state education agencies are required to provide the U.S. Department of Education with data on students with disabilities exiting special education during the school year.

 

School divisions will submit exit data electronically using the SPEDSYS data application and the Single Sign-On for Web Systems (SSWS) process. Exit data must be submitted by Friday, August 3, 2007. The exit date for students being reported must fall between July 1, 2006, and June 30, 2007.

 

Directions for submitting data will be sent by separate memo to local directors of special education.
