SUBJECT:	Virginia Graduation Requirements 2007 and Beyond Brochure

The Virginia Department of Education has prepared a new brochure to help students and parents better understand the requirements for a diploma for students who entered the ninth grade for the first time during 2003-2004 (class of 2007).

The brochure provides information about the Standard Diploma and Advanced Studies Diploma and the answers to frequently asked questions about the Commonwealths diploma requirements.

The brochure, in sufficient quantities to provide a copy for every student in grades 9-12, will be shipped by UPS to all Virginia high schools during the week of January 8, 2007. Deliveries are expected to be completed by January 12. Please advise principals to anticipate delivery of the brochures so they can be distributed to students in a timely manner.
