Online Technical Assistance for Completing the 2007-2008 Applications for Federal Funds Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB)
The Department of Education is pleased to announce the creation of Web-based technical assistance modules to provide guidance for school divisions in completing the 2007-2008 applications for federal funds under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB).
School division personnel responsible for developing and submitting the applications are encouraged to view modules that are pertinent to their area of oversight. A menu with links to each module will be available March 23, 2007, on the Virginia Department of Educations website at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Instruction/OCP/nclb-applications.html.
Below is a listing of the modules that will be available:
1. Application Overview and Mechanics of Data Entry
2. Common Elements: Conducting the Needs Assessment,
Completing the Program Overview, Coordination of
Services, Measurable Objectives, and Budget Pages
3. Title I, Part A, specific pages
4. Title I, Part C, specific pages
5. Title I, Part D, specific pages
6. Title II, Part A, specific pages
7. Title II, Part D, specific pages
8. Title III, Part A, specific pages
9. Title IV, Part A, specific pages
10. Title V, Part A, specific pages
11. Title VI, Part A, specific pages.
Optional follow-up audio conferences will be held on April 13 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; and April 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please see Attachment A for the date and time reserved for your division, along with the toll-free call-in numbers and passcodes for each session. School divisions are asked to assemble their representatives at one location and use a speakerphone to participate at the assigned time.
For divisions desiring to participate in the audio conference follow-up sessions, Attachment B contains a response form to be returned by fax on or before April 6, 2007, to Carol Sylvester, Title II, Part A, specialist, at (804) 371-7347. The form contains a place to list questions you would like addressed at the workshop.
