SUBJECT:	Adoption of Cut Scores for Additional Substitute Test for Verified Credit

On February 28, 2007, the Virginia Board of Education adopted cut scores for an additional substitute test, SAT I Writing test, for verified credit in English: Writing. The scale score of 400 on the SAT I Writing test will be equivalent to an achievement level of proficient on the Standards of Learning (SOL) end-of-course (EOC) English: Writing test, and a scale score of 500 on the SAT I Writing test will be equivalent to the advanced level.

A list of all tests approved as SOL substitute tests for verified credit is on the Department of Educations website at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Assessment/home.shtml. The additional test and newly adopted cut scores are in bold print.
