Phase
Out of the Standards of Learning (SOL) Grade 8 Cumulative History/Social
Science Test |
Based
on revisions made to the Standards of Quality by the 2007 Virginia General
Assembly, the SOL grade 8 cumulative history/social science test
will be phased out in the 2007-2008 school year. The grade 8 cumulative history/social
science test will only be available for the fall 2007 and spring 2008 test
administrations.
All
school divisions will now be required to begin implementation of the three
separate Content Specific History tests: United States History to 1877, United
States History: 1877 to the Present, and Civics and Economics. School divisions may phase in the testing of
each of these subjects and are not required to test all three subjects within
the first year of implementation.
