SUBJECT:	2007 Academy for New Special Education Administrators

The annual Academy for New Special Education Administrators will be held on September 26-27, 2007, at the Sheraton Park South, located in Richmond, Virginia. The purpose of this academy is to provide new special education administrators with information on a variety of topics including state and federal data collection and reporting procedures, annual plans, updates and changes to current policies and regulations, SOL instructional resources, as well as the use of assigned mentors and staff in the Division of Special Education and Student Services. A new special education administrator, as defined for participating in the academy, is one who is new to their position and has not been a special education administrator in another location or was new after last years academy, which was held September 20-21, 2006.

If your division has employed a new special education administrator, please provide their name, position/title, mailing address, telephone number, and e-mail address so that we can invite them to the academy.
