Homebound
Instruction Manual and Annual Report |
The Board of
Education through the Regulations
Establishing Standards for Accrediting Public Schools in Virginia requires
that homebound instruction shall be made available to public school students
confined at home or in a health care facility for periods that would prevent
normal school attendance. The Guidelines
for Homebound Instructional Services have been revised and may be accessed
at: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/sess/Homebound.pdf.
Major changes to the manual include the addition of online instruction
guidelines and a more clear delineation of responsibilities by job title.
Fiscal year
2008 funding is provided through the current appropriations act. The reporting
of Homebound Instructional Services data for school year 2006-2007 will be
collected through the Single Sign-On for Web Systems (SSWS) utilizing the
criteria and guidelines outlined in the revised manual. Additional information
will be provided regarding the reporting process and dates for data collection.
