The Virginia
Department of Education (VDOE) has recently received final information from the
U.S. Department of Education about the level of funding for the SDFSCA program.
Total Allocation to
Governors
Office (20%) $1,282,951.00
VDOE
(80%) $5,131,805.00
Of the
$5,131,805 allocated to the VDOE, funds will be distributed as follows:
School
Divisions (93%) $4,772,578.65
VDOE
(7%) $ 359,226.35
Preliminary
funding information was provided to the coordinators as a part of their
technical assistance workshop on April 24, 2007.
The attached
table provides a listing by school division of the final Title IV, Part A
entitlements. The allocation to the
state remained exactly the same amount as 2006-07; however, most school
division allocations are different from last years amounts because of changes
in the divisions K-12 enrollment and its Title I allocation.
Questions
regarding the Title IV program should be directed to Arlene Cundiff,
coordinator of the safe and drug-free schools program, via e-mail Arlene.Cundiff@doe.virginia.gov

program specialist, via e-mail Joann.Burkholder@doe.virginia.gov
or telephone (804)371-7586.
