SUBJECT:

Final Title IV, Part A: Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Entitlements for the 2007-08 School Year Under Provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001,Public Law 107-110

 

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has recently received final information from the U.S. Department of Education about the level of funding for the SDFSCA program.

 

Total Allocation to Virginia $6,414,756.00

 

        Governors Office (20%) $1,282,951.00

 

        VDOE (80%) $5,131,805.00

 

 

Of the $5,131,805 allocated to the VDOE, funds will be distributed as follows:

 

        School Divisions (93%) $4,772,578.65

 

        VDOE (7%) $ 359,226.35

 

Preliminary funding information was provided to the coordinators as a part of their technical assistance workshop on April 24, 2007.

 

The attached table provides a listing by school division of the final Title IV, Part A entitlements. The allocation to the state remained exactly the same amount as 2006-07; however, most school division allocations are different from last years amounts because of changes in the divisions K-12 enrollment and its Title I allocation.
