Family Life Guidelines |
The purpose
of this memorandum is to provide information regarding an amendment to the
Board of Education Guidelines for Family Life Education as required by the 2007
session of the Virginia General Assembly.
House Bill 1916 amended
22.1-207.1 of the Code of Virginia to
require that information concerning dating violence and the characteristics of
abusive relationships be included in the Family Life Education curriculum
guidelines. The guidelines have been
revised to reflect Board of Education action to implement the 2007 legislation.
The revised
guidelines may be downloaded from the Department of Educations website: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/studentsrvcs/familylife.shtml. Bound copies will be available by the end of
