Governors Healthy Students Summit
Registration Deadline: September 10, 2007
General Assembly has designated the third week in September 2007, and in each
succeeding year, as Healthy
Virginians/Healthy Students Week. In
observance of the first Healthy Students Week, the Secretary of Education and the
Secretary of Health and Human Resources extend an invitation to local school
divisions and health districts to participate in the Governors Healthy Students
Summit on September 20. The purpose of

Each school division is invited to send a team that could include the superintendent, school principals, school nutrition director, school nurses, health and physical educators, and members of the school health advisory board. Each health district is invited to send a team that could include the director, nurse manager, and appropriate nutrition and health education staff. School divisions and health districts are encouraged to jointly identify appropriate team members and to create and use the same team name when registering. Teams will be seated together.

previously indicated interest in attending, must register online by September
10, 2007. Registrants will be asked to
provide a team name, such as school division or locality, during the
