The
Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals (VAESP), the Virginia
Department of Education (VDOE), and the National Association of Elementary
School Principals (NAESP) extend an invitation to all division superintendents,
principals, assistant principals, and instructional leaders to attend the 2007
Annual Principals Conference that will be held October 31 November 2,
2007, at the Williamsburg Marriott, Williamsburg, Virginia.
The
pre-conference on October 31, 2007, will provide a leadership workshop
conducted by John Antonetti. Mr.
Antonetti is a nationally acclaimed speaker who has taught at all grade levels
including kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school. He is the author
of the books, Lessons from the MIRA: Writing as a Measure of Thinking
and Lessons from the Learners: Analyzing Data from 10,000 Classroom Visits.
November 1-2, 2007, will
provide attendees opportunities to hear comments from Dr. Billy K. Cannaday, Jr., State Superintendent
of Public Instruction; John Antonetti; Dr.
Gail Connelly, NAESP Executive Director; Dr. Crystal Kuykendall; Dr.
Nancy M. Davenport, NAESP President-Elect; and Barry Rosenberg, VAESP President. This professional development
conference will provide a variety of concurrent sessions on leadership, special
education, inclusion, collaboration, curriculum/instruction, state/federal
mandates, and motivation. The
Williamsburg Marriott has reserved rooms for conference attendees at a
