Rural and
Low-Income School Program Symposium |
The
Department of Education is pleased to announce the Third Annual Rural and
Low-Income School Program Symposium in collaboration with Title III, Limited
English Proficient (LEP) Programs. This
symposium will address topics such as: 1) support for gifted learners; 2) serving
Limited English Proficient (LEP) learners with disabilities; 3) questions
school leaders should ask about data and student achievement; 4) resources for
students with disabilities; and 5) reading strategies for LEP students. All the topics will be presented in the
context of rural settings.
The symposium
will be held at The Hotel Roanoke and
The Office of
Continuing and Professional Education at Virginia Tech will manage the online
registration. The link is: http://www.cpe.vt.edu/reg/rss/.
The online registration must be completed by Wednesday, March 5. Breaks,
dinner, and lunch will be provided; lodging and parking will be master
billed. Travel should be charged to the
respective local program.
If lodging is
required, a reservation must be made directly with the Hotel Roanoke prior to
Monday, February 18, 2008. The telephone
