2008 |
The 2008
Virginia Pupil Transportation Conference sponsored by the Virginia Association
for Pupil Transportation (VAPT) and supported by the Department of Education
(DOE) will be held at the Virginia Beach Conference and Convention Center, June
16-19, 2008.
Information
regarding the details of the conference will be sent to the transportation
director in your school division.
Registration is scheduled for Monday, June 16, beginning
at noon. VAPT is sponsoring a ROAD-E-O
for drivers on Tuesday.
This year
VAPT is combining the Special Needs Symposium usually held in April with the
June conference. The conference will include several National Association for
Pupil Transportation (NAPT) classes, sessions on bullying/harassment, gangs,
dealing with angry people, and Motor Carrier Guidelines. Off-site technical
maintenance training will be held for technicians and mechanics. Exhibitors
will be present to discuss their products with drivers, technicians, and
directors.
A special
invitation is extended to division superintendents and other school personnel
involved with or interested in pupil transportation. Registration information will be provided in
the package that will be sent to your transportation director and also will be posted
on the VAPT website at: http://www.vapt.org.
