School Division Access to College Enrollment Data Through the National Student Clearinghouse
As part of the Virginia Board of Education's postsecondary readiness study, the Virginia Department of Education has purchased a one-year subscription to the National Student Clearinghouse. The Clearinghouse provides a central, nationwide repository of information on the enrollment status and educational achievements of postsecondary students.
As part of
the agreement with the National Student Clearinghouse, the Virginia Department
of Education has agreed to pay the annual StudentTracker
for High Schools fee for all public high school districts and high schools
located in the
In order to access the service, the National Student Clearinghouse requires school divisions to agree to the terms in the attached StudentTracker for High Schools Agreement. The state's current contract is effective February 15, 2008 through February 15, 2009, and may be used to obtain postsecondary enrollment data on students as far back as 2002. Please note that the fee schedule on page 5 of this document shows the cost of the service per high school in the event that the Virginia Department of Education does not renew the subscription next year.
According to the Clearinghouse, school divisions that currently subscribe to the service are eligible for a pro-rated refund.
