Career and
Technical Education Federal Perkins Act Carry-Over Allocations for Rural
School Divisions for the Period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008 |
The
Department of Education is pleased to provide rural school divisions with
additional local allocations for Career and Technical Education Federal Perkins
Grant Fiscal Year 2006 carry-over funds based on the federal formula. Please refer to the attachment for the
additional carry-over funding allocations.
These additional funds will be distributed on a reimbursement basis.
Each school
division must submit a revised, separate CTEMS 2B and 2C of the School Year 2006
2007 local plan, prior to expenditure of these additional Perkins
dollars. These carry-over funds must be expended prior to any current allocated
2007 2008 Perkins funds. There is
no provision for the Perkins Fiscal Year 2006 carry-over funds to be carried
over to the next school year.
If you have
any questions concerning submitting a revised School Year 2006 2007 local
plan, please contact Anne Rowe, career cluster coordinator, career and
technical education, via e-mail at Anne.Rowe@doe.virginia.gov
or telephone at (804) 225-2838 or George Willcox, career cluster coordinator,
career and technical education, via e-mail George.Willcox@doe.virginia.gov
or telephone at (804) 225-2839.
These funds will also be distributed on
a reimbursement basis. Reimbursement for
this program should be made through the Single Sign-on Web Application System
(SSWS) through the Online Management of Education Grant Awards (OMEGA). If you do not have access to this system,
please e-mail Omega.Support@doe.virginia.gov
to establish your user permission. All
expenditures must be consistent with the approved revised local plan.
School
divisions requiring reimbursement by June 30, 2008, must submit requests for
reimbursement by June 6, 2008. All other
division final requests for reimbursement must be received by August 22, 2008,
based on actual expenditures incurred, which must have been encumbered by June
30, 2008.
If you have
questions concerning the funds allocations or the cutoff date for expending
funds, contact W. Terry Dougherty, grants administrator,
via e-mail at Terry.Dougherty@doe.virginia.gov
or telephone at (804) 225-3349.
