2008 Teacher-to-Teacher
Summer Workshops |
Building on the success of previous
teacher workshops, the United States Department of Education (USED) will again
host a series of workshops for K-12 teachers and principals in the summer of
2008. Some of the nation's best teachers and practitioners will share their
strategies for raising student achievement and inform teachers of the latest,
successful research-based practices.
The workshops this year will focus on
the content areas of literacy/reading, mathematics, science, and history.
Within each workshop, activities will feature the use of technology in the
classroom, differentiation of instruction, and the use of data to support
student achievement.
Workshops will be sponsored by partners
with the USED, including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA), the National Park Service, the United
States Office of Charter Schools, the Federal Aviation Administration, the
Department of Energy, the Department of Defense Education Agency, and the
United States Mint.
There is no registration charge for the
workshops. Additionally, meals and refreshments will be provided during the
scheduled workshop activities. Participants are responsible for their own transportation
and lodging.
Details regarding content, dates, locations,
and registration for each workshop are available on the USED Teacher-to-Teacher
website: https://www.t2tweb.us/Workshops/Schedule.asp.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
