SUBJECT:

Reporting Founded Cases of Physical or Sexual Abuse by Licensed Teachers Legislation to go into effect July 1, 2008

 

The 2008 Virginia General Assembly approved House Bill 1242 to amend and reenact Sections 22.1-296.1, 22.1-296.4, 22.1-307, and 63.2-1505 of the Code of Virginia, relating to child abuse and neglect crimes and founded cases and the employment and dismissal of employees. Attached is a copy of the revisions in the Code of Virginia that become effective July 1, 2008. The amendments are noted by italics for new language and strikethroughs for deleted language.
