Praxis II Tests for Teacher Licensure

Effective September 1, 2008, the Education Testing Service (ETS) will administer new versions of two Praxis II tests-- Family and Consumer Sciences and Marketing Education. The test content is the same; however, ETS has changed the test codes and will report the tests on a different score scale. The older version score scale (250-990) will change to a new score scale (100-200).

The new test codes and passing scores (based on the new score scale) are as follows:

* Family Consumer Science

Test Code: 0121

Virginia Passing Score: 150

* Marketing Education

Test Code: 0561

Virginia Passing Score: 147

Score reports for individuals who took the tests prior to September 2008 will be acceptable for licensure provided the candidate met the passing scores effective at the time the tests were taken. Information on the professional teacher's assessments in Virginia may be accessed at the following website: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/newvdoe/prof_teacher_assessment.pdf.
