Learn and Serve Challenge |
The Virginia
Department of Education is pleased to announce the National Learn and Serve
Challenge during the week of October 6-12, 2008, designed to raise awareness
and build support for service-learning. Service-learning
is a teaching method that engages students in community problem solving as an
integral part of their academic studies.
Students make meaningful connections between their classroom studies and
real-life applications and become more effective citizens through civic
engagement.
