The Virginia Association for
Supervision and Curriculum Development (VASCD) extends an invitation to all division
superintendents, principals, assistant principals, and instructional leaders to
attend the 2008 Annual VASCD Conference entitled Educating and Engaging the Whole Child for 21st Century
Learning that will be held December 3December 5, 2008, at the Williamsburg
Marriott,
The preconference on December 3 will provide a
workshop conducted by Alan November and the November Learning Team. Mr. November will provide an overview of how
critical thinking on the Web and collaborative Web-based tools can help
educators design more rigorous and motivating assignments across the
curriculum.
Attendees will be provided opportunities on
December 4 to hear comments from Tony Wagner addressing The Global
Achievement Gap: How Educators Can
Prepare Students for College, Careers and Citizenship and Annette Breaux
on How to Impact Student Achievement and Make a Difference. On
December 5, attendees will hear Marcia Tate's presentation on Worksheets
Dont Grow Dendrites: 20 Instructional
Strategies that Engage the Brain and Daniel Pink on Intrinsic Motivation: The New Logic of Rewards. This conference will provide a variety of
breakout sessions presented by practicing educators from across the
Commonwealth.
