SUBJECT:	Announcement of the Addition of the Middle School Vocabulary Videos

 

The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce the addition of the Middle School Vocabulary Videos to the resources available for middle school teachers.

 

Each three-minute video is a demonstration of a vocabulary lesson or strategy presented by a teacher from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Graphic organizers or other black line masters that can be used in any middle school classroom accompany several of the videos. These ten video vignettes present a variety of strategies and activities to enhance vocabulary instruction for the English classroom as well as other content areas. A facilitator's guide in PowerPoint format provides additional staff development opportunities.
