The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Commission’s Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Subcommittee is pleased to announce a website for teachers and school divisions, Virginia’s Abraham Lincoln Celebrating the Bicentennial of the Birth of Abraham Lincoln. The website highlights the Virginia History and Social Science Standards of Learning (K.1a, 1.2, 2.11, 3.11b, USI.9b, VUS.7a, and VUS.7b) and provides information about Abraham Lincoln and the bicentennial celebration of his birth.
Virginia’s Abraham Lincoln Celebrating the Bicentennial of the Birth of Abraham Lincoln is designed for elementary, middle, and high school teachers as a guide in the instructional planning process for teaching about Abraham Lincoln. The website includes links to podcasts, pictures, lesson plans, commemorative programs and events, and other resources to support the Virginia History and Social Science Standards of Learning.
