FROM: Patricia I. Wright, Superintendent of Public Instruction
In a continuing effort to support the automotive programs of the Commonwealth through online technology-based curriculum resources for instructors and students, the Virginia Department of Education, Office of Career and Technical Education in cooperation with CDX Global will be providing regional one-day training events for all automotive instructors this spring.
Individuals must be employed as a Trade and Industrial Education Automotive Maintenance, Automotive Service, or Automotive Technology Instructor. Registration for the training will be online and CDX will contact instructors concerning details and registration instructions.
Due to the training events’ regional format, no overnight travel will be reimbursed. The Department will reimburse participants in accordance with state travel guidelines for mileage and substitutes. Teachers should register for the training that is closest to their school division. The application deadline for all training sessions is April 3, 2009.
