The 2009 Virginia Pupil Transportation Conference sponsored by the Virginia Association for Pupil Transportation (VAPT) and supported by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) will be held at the Roanoke Sheraton, Roanoke, Virginia, June 22-25, 2009.
Information regarding the details of the conference has been sent to the transportation director in your school division. Registration is scheduled for Monday, June 22, beginning at 11 a.m. VAPT is sponsoring a ROAD-E-O for drivers on Tuesday.
Again this year VAPT is combining the Special Needs Symposium usually held in April with the June conference. The conference will include several National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) classes, sessions on special needs transportation, security assessment, Medicaid and updates from the Department of Education. Off-site technical maintenance training will be held for technicians and mechanics. Exhibitors will be present to discuss their products with drivers, technicians, and directors.
A special invitation to attend the conference is extended to division superintendents and other school personnel involved with or interested in pupil transportation. Registration information is contained in the package that was sent to your transportation director and also posted on the VAPT website at: http://www.vapt.org.
