The Virginia Career Education Foundation (VCEF) is accepting nominations for the 2010 Governor’s Career and Technical Education Exemplary Standards Awards. The awards program is part of Virginia’s grant from the National Governors Association (NGA) Center for Best Practices to improve science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. The standards serve as the benchmark for Career and Technical Education programs in Virginia that aspire to program improvement and program excellence.
In addition to the state recognition, winners will receive a $5,000 grant to pursue continued program improvement activities. Nominations of outstanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are due June 1, 2009. Nomination forms and additional information about a technical assistance session that will be offered August 3, 2009, can be found online at www.vcef.net.
