The Virginia Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (VASCD) extends an invitation to all division superintendents, principals, assistant principals, and instructional leaders to attend the 2009 Annual VASCD Conference entitled Building Communities That Support Rigorous Student Learning. The Conference will be held December 2-4, 2009, at the Williamsburg Marriott, Williamsburg, Virginia.
The preconference on December 2 will provide a workshop conducted by Marcia Tate. Ms. Tate's topic will be "Shouting Won't Grow Dendrites - 20 Techniques on Managing a Brain Compatible Classroom."
Attendees will be provided opportunities on December 3-4 to hear comments from Ken Kay addressing "Is it a Fad? Why the Economy Won't Let 21st Century Skills Go Away"; Will Richardson will address "Anywhere, Anytime Classrooms: Teaching and Learning in a Networked World"; Bill Daggett will address "Taking Rigor and Relevance from Concept to Reality"; and Heidi Hayes-Jacobs will address "Professional Growth for 21st Century Teachers." The Conference will provide a variety of breakout sessions presented by practicing educators from across the Commonwealth.
