The Virginia Technology Education Association, the Virginia Children's Engineering Council, and the Technology Education Service are co-sponsoring the "Children's Engineering Convention" for teachers and administrators who provide leadership at grades K-5. The convention will be held at the Holiday Inn - Koger Center, Richmond, Virginia, February 25-26, 2010. The keynote speakers will be retired astronaut Susan Kilrain and Dr. Richard Boutwell of Northrop Grumman.
The convention format has been changed to provide Thursday evening sessions and conclude on Friday. The Children's Engineering Convention special interest sessions will highlight best practices and classroom strategies that support achievement of the Virginia Standards of Learning through hands-on designing and building; critical thinking skills, and problem solving.
