FROM: Patricia I. Wright, Superintendent of Public Instruction
The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce the Investing in Data Quality (IDQ) Program. IDQ provides training, information, support and resources to school division personnel involved with data and data quality. The program website provides a way for data managers and coordinators to register and access the curriculum leading to 35 hours of staff development credits, local Student Information System certification, and personal recognition.
The IDQ program is a statewide effort to recognize and reinforce everyone's role in the collection, verification and reporting of education data. The program was envisioned, developed, and designed by Virginia school divisions and focuses on improving data quality at the school, division and state levels. Furthermore, the IDQ website will publicly recognize school and central office staff as they progress through the five levels of certification.
