As a follow-up to Superintendent's Memo #183-09, dated July 10, 2009, the Virginia Department of Education is pleased to provide new details of the multi-agency collaboration on the development of the Virginia Education Wizard, a comprehensive career and college planning website.
The Wizard (version 1.0) currently provides students with the ability to:
As part of Wizard 2.0, which is scheduled for release in early 2010, the Wizard will make it possible for students to:
*An Early Release of the Skills Assessment has been released ahead of schedule to meet the needs of students and educators. The Early Release Skills Assessment allows students to take the assessment and print their results in the form of Career Clusters that match their self-reported skills. When Wizard 2.0 is released in early 2010, students will be able to save their assessment results.
And as part of Wizard 3.0, which is scheduled for release in time for the start of the 2010 - 2011 school year, the Wizard will make it possible for students to create and store personalized academic and career plans.
Teachers and counselors will be excited to know that starting with Wizard 2.0; the Wizard is slated to enable them to access information on the students whom they serve.
