The Virginia Career Education Foundation (VCEF) is accepting nominations for the third round of the Governor’s Career and Technical Education Exemplary Standards Awards. The awards program began as part of Virginia’s grant from the National Governors Association (NGA) Center for Best Practices to improve science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. The standards serve as the benchmark for Career and Technical Education programs in Virginia that aspire to program improvement and program excellence.
Nominations of outstanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are due June 30, 2010. A technical assistance session will be scheduled during the summer. All documentation to complete the nomination process must be posted online by the nominee by February 11, 2011. Finalists from the documentation review will have a site visit and interviews to determine award recipients.
The Governor’s Career and Technical Standards, the nomination form and additional application information are available on the VCEF website at www.vcef.net. Questions concerning the program may be directed to Dr. Emily Richardson, president, Virginia Career Education Foundation, by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone at (804) 615-1505.
