SUBJECT: 2010-2011 Student Record Collection

To comply with the information and reporting requirements for adequate yearly progress, report cards, and performance indicators of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), the Department of Education has updated the Student Record Collection for the 2010-2011 school year.

Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, the Student Record Collection (SRC) contains the following changes to data elements:

Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, the December 1 Child Count file layout has been aligned to the SRC file layout. By using the Student Record Collection file layout for the December 1 Child Count, school divisions can take advantage of the Pre-Submission application to edit check the data prior to actual submission. We hope this will improve data accuracy and ensure the entire special education population is accurately reported by the Department of Education. Reliable data are necessary to ensure special education funding (a product of December 1 Child Count and Tuition Reimbursement) and March 31 average daily membership (ADM) (a product of Spring Student Record Collection) is accurately calculated for each school division.
