The Board of Education prescribes the professional teacher’s assessment requirements for initial licensure in Virginia as set forth in Section 22.1-298.1 of the Code of Virginia. The Praxis II Subject Assessments are required for endorsement (content) areas. The Educational Testing Service (ETS) has revised the Praxis II Business Education assessment through the test regeneration process.
Effective September 1, 2010, ETS will administer a new version of the Praxis II assessment for business education. The revised assessment, Praxis II Business Education (0101), will replace the current assessment, Business Education (0100), which will be discontinued after the summer test administration. At their meeting on May 27, 2010, the Board of Education approved a passing score of 157 for the new version of the assessment.
Score reports for individuals who took the Business Education assessment prior to September 2010 will be accepted for licensure provided the candidate met the passing score effective at the time the test was taken.
