SUBJECT: ThinkQuest International Competition 2011

The recently launched ThinkQuest International Competition 2011 challenges students to solve a real-world problem by applying their critical thinking, communication, and technology skills. Participants may enroll in the following events:

• ThinkQuest Projects: To create their entry, student participants use this hosted environment to produce Web-based learning projects.



• ThinkQuest Digital Media: Participants use digital media tools to produce a blog/journal, Web site, animation, public service announcement, photo essay, video, or some combination of these items.



• Application Development: Participants develop a Web-based application using programming language from a select list.

Detailed information on the competition and supporting resources may be found at http://www.thinkquest.org/competition. This is a worldwide competition. Last year Virginia had a winning team from Newport News Public Schools.
