The Department of Education is pleased to announce the availability of the Virginia Tech Presidential Scholarship Initiative, which will provide 50 qualifying students from modest or low-income families with full tuition, fees, and on-campus room and board for four years, as well as academic and social support and cultural and enrichment experiences.
To qualify for the Virginia Tech Presidential Scholarship, students must meet regular Virginia Tech admission standards and must qualify for the Federal Pell Grant. To apply, students must apply for admission to Virginia Tech before January 15, 2011, and must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/index.htm, as soon as possible after January 1, 2011. Students will be screened based on their Federal Pell Grant eligibility and the strength of their academic record and test scores. Students will be notified of their selection around April 1, 2011.
