A one-year pilot program beginning with the 2011-2012 school year will provide all instructional technology resource teachers (ITRTs) with subscriptions to Sublime Learning’s professional development libraries consisting of short, narrated video tutorials with accompanying downloadable template, Flipchart, and Notebook files for immediate classroom use. The eTeachables™ for Visual Learning library dovetails with existing Inspiration® and Kidspiration® software to model the application of proven strategies for stronger teaching with technology. Inquiry-Based Learning for Interactive Whiteboards offers a library of professional development tools based around key questions or themes for problem-based teaching strategies.
ITRTs can access the two eTeachables libraries online 24/7 to support core curriculum areas and enhance learning and comprehension. All Sublime Learning tutorials provide general and differentiated instruction and align with K-12 Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL).
ITRTs may preview a sample of the eTeachables at http://www.sublimelearning.com/eteachables.php.
If you would like for your instructional technology resource teachers to participate in this pilot program, send a list of ITRTs, the school(s) they serve, and their e-mail address to firstname.lastname@example.org by August 31. Participants must agree to complete three short surveys throughout the year related to the use of these resources in the classroom.
If you have questions about this project, please contact Jean Weller, educational technology specialist, at (804)225-2825 or via e-mail at email@example.com.
