SUBJECT:  Federal Program Monitoring Review of Career and Technical Education Programs

The Virginia Department of Education’s (VDOE) Career and Technical Education (CTE) Federal Program Monitoring Review system is designed to focus on program improvement and student achievement.  The division’s CTE programs are reviewed on a six-year cyclical schedule over a two to three-year period with follow-up as needed.  School divisions must complete a comprehensive self-assessment instrument and submit it to VDOE career and technical education staff by May 15, 2012.  Technical assistance during the process is provided to school divisions by webinars and individual teleconferences.
